Using CC 12 Deluxe. Last year I successfully imported multiple categories of events with date, time, and description. When I tried to import this year's information, all the event times were imported as 12:00 AM instead of the actual event time. What is the proper format for time in the CSV file so CC will import time correctly?

Thanks!

I have encountered this same time import issue, without finding a solution. I have always attempted to import data saved via MS Excel in .csv format, whether it was originally exported from Calendar Creator or other sources. I don't know if other software that can store table data would cause the same incompatibility issue.

Update:

I've tried half a dozen different formatting options for time but none made a difference. On a whim I checked the Convert special DOS characters box and the times were imported correctly.

Further update: well it worked once but the next category didn't import times again even though the CSV formatting and import settings were the same.

Still Further update: Only the Meeting category can be imported with Time I need to play with the formatting in a simple test calendar to see what is accepted. I have too many events in my calendar to spend more time there. Also, only the Meeting category will display time in the calendar. If the Do not use time box is deselected and saved, it is selected again when the properties are viewed again.

Hi, Larry,

Some time ago I tried different ways of importing calendar event data. I started by exporting a range of events from Calendar Creator, using that table as a template for data to import, and then matching the formats exactly. I made sure every cell had some kind of data in it. I still couldn't get the time formats to work. Dates worked, times did not.

Databases handle formats in different ways, and sometimes it's difficult or impossible to find a way to make a flawless exchange of data. That seems to be the case with time formats in Calendar Creator, since other fields appear to import without a problem.

If you try assigning all events the "Meeting" category, will they all import the time? Even if it works, it may not be practical to change the categories back to their original ones after an import. (If this seems like a possible approach, I'd suggest copying the original categories to a new column that is not imported, and use this as a reference to restore the original categories.)

I expect that the "Do not use time" selection has no effect on import and export. The time fields would have to be filled in any case (the 12:00:00 AM default), and the selection field is not a field that's exported, though it would be useful if it and other customizing fields could be exported/imported.
