Create a 1 year Photo Calendar - 12/23/2015 9:40:05 AM    amosgreg   Posts: 1 Joined: 12/23/2015 Status: offline I am trying to create a 1 year monthly photo calendar and unfortunately I am having difficulty figuring out how to set the start and end months so that I can publish and print a yearly photo calendar for family and friends with photos I have taken. I have spent the last hour and a half trying to figure this out to no avail. First time I tried to save the calendar as a PDF if hung for over 45 minutes.... next time only 1 month was created........ Very frustrated at this time based on all online reviews and the information on the web site, I thought this was going to be simple and robust.............. RE: Create a 1 year Photo Calendar - 12/23/2015 11:18:47 AM    DEJenc3 Posts: 533 Joined: 6/22/2005 Status: offline I'll suggest a few things to help: First, you have to keep in mind that Calendar Creator is a perpetual calendar, and the calendars you create don't have a start and end per se. You manage the start and end of the calendar that you print by using the print range that appears in the print dialogue in the lower right. Specify your start and end dates, or select a period based on the kind of view your have, month, for example. To print to PDF, we recommend that you use a third-party PDF printer, and you will find that CutePDF is often recommended here. Once you try a pdf printer, and specify a print range, you should not have difficulty. If you still find that it's slow to print or hanging, it may be because you did not specify a range, or that the photos in your calendar are extremely large. _____________________________ David (in reply to amosgreg) Post #: 2

I use Cute with CC and it works beautifully. It embeds the fonts, so the text stays super sharp, but the file size is optimized because the calendar months aren't rasterized. If you have a lot of high res photos, make two PDFs instead of one. Jan to June, July to Dec. RE: Create a 1 year Photo Calendar - 12/23/2015 1:34:04 PM    ellengard Posts: 3253 Joined: 10/2/2006 Status: offline A note about inserting several high resolution photos in a single file: Since today's cameras create JPGs with file sizes of 4MB and more, adding a dozen such files into your CC project can freeze the program, especially if you have less than 6GB RAM. To avoid this problem, crop and resample your pictures to 2400 pixels x 3000 pixels or less. Then bring these resampled pictures into CC. (Windows Live Photo Gallery has resampling tools as does Paint - just be careful you SAVE AS so you do not overwrite your original file.) 2400 pixels x 3000 pixels translates into 8"x10" prints at 300 dpi. This is high quality. Anything higher is great for printing your photos at poster size, but it is OVERKILL for a calendar project. (in reply to amosgreg) Post #: 4
