I found an unused program Print Shop Premier Edition 5.0 (1996) that I needed to open some PCC files. I am using my old computer (32 bit) to run the rogram and all is well. However, when I go to print therein lies the problem. I installed my newer printer that connects wireless to my old laptop. But when I select print, I get an error message that there is a problem and I need to restart my old computer and also reinstall Print Shop<< Any suggestions?

Thanks, SteelMan

I think you need a win95 compatible printer driver.

I do not recommend trying to install a Win 95 printer driver for your current printer. Maybe use your old printer with your old computer with this old program.

I think your program is so old that there is no export to JPG feature. If you can create a JPG or a PDF, your printer can print the JPG or PDF. A screen capture can also be printed, but the resolution is low so the print would be blurry.

Thanks for the fast reply. I was afraid that was you were going to say. I had discarded my old printer so will have to for a cheap replacement. The files are PCC files and cannot save as a Jpeg.

I appreciate your knowledge and thank you again.

What OS are you running? You have a very obsolete version of the program and an outdated printer. Windows 10 has been known to provide very basic functionality for older devices but it's limited to printing and the results can vary depending on what is being printed.

My newest computer is Windows 10, my next one is Window 7 (both of these are 64 bit) and then my old laptop is Vista (32 bit). The program is in 32 bit. Both printers I have are 64 bit printers. I have heard that I can change my computer to compatible (?) mode that will accept 32 bit?

Thanks for the clarification on the forum.

Not to get too technical but 32 bit programs are backward compatible for the most part with 64 bit operating systems. Unfortunately, due to the way drivers are programmed it's a whole different story when a programmer writes drivers for these systems.

Any kind of program you can attempt to make compatible by right clicking on the desktop shortcut, select properties and click on the compatibility tab. Set the OS version for the program, click apply and see if the program works.
