bchaney -> Printing Avery 8160 labels (4/13/2011 1:47:12 PM)

I have used Printmaster for over 10 years and I had it loaded on an external hard drive and it died. When I tried to load it on my computer it would not load so I bought Printmaster Gold 2011. I am trying to make and print Avery 8160 labels. There is no option for this size label (only about 4 options available) so I put in the dimensions through custom settings. When I tried to print the label there were no options that my old Printmaster had such as number of labels, start with label # - it was so easy. I cannot find any way to print this label - it prints it giant size. Does anyone have any help for me? Thanks in advance. Brenda

Hi bchaney,

The problem you are experiencing is due to the fact that PrintMaster 2011 is not a true upgrade of any previous version of PrintMaster. Instead, PrintMaster 2011 is a completely redesigned and rewritten product which works in an entirely different manner than all earlier versions of PrintMaster - except PrintMaster 2.0. And, as you have probably already seen, PrintMaster 2011 cannot open any projects which were created with any previous version of PrintMaster.

As to your problem with creating labels in PrintMaster 2011, PrintMaster 2011 does not offer an option for selecting the number of labels or the label # to start with. Your only option, I'm afraid, is to print an entire sheet of labels with the same text and graphics.

As to your problem with creating an 8160 template, your best bet would be to do this:

1. Select 'Create From Scratch' on the 'New Project Options' window.

2. When the 'New Project' window opens, click on the down arrow next to the 'Project Type' box, then select 'Labels' in the menu that drops down.

3. Since the default template will be 5160, which will be exactly the same as 8160, all you should have to do is to click on 'OK' to proceed to the workspace.

You will see that only one label is displayed on the workspace. However, when you go to print the project, that label will be duplicated to fill the page with 30 identical labels.

If you purchased PrintMaster 2011 from a retail store within the last 90 days or from broderbund.com within the last 30 days, you might want to keep in mind that you are eligible for a refund - even after the software has been opened and installed. Please click on the link below

to view the Refund Policy.

And, you might want to also keep in mind that PrintMaster 18, which can be purchased here

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dsoftware&field-keywords=PrintMaster+18&x=0&y=0

and PrintMaster 18.1, which can be purchased here

http://www.broderbund.com/c-32-printmaster.aspx

are the most current upgrades of the older versions of PrintMaster. And, if you will click on the link below

http://forums.encoreusa.com/tm.asp?m=37889

you will see that both of those products can be successfully installed on even a 64-bit version of Windows 7.
