wickskip -> Windows 8 PM 18.1 vs PM 2012 (12/7/2012 7:37:48 AM)

I used PM Platinum 7 on Windows XP for some time. I recently got a Windows 8 computer. I was advised by Broderbund Tech Support to get PM 18.1. It did not load due to incompatibility issues. I exchanged for Platinum 2012 which loads OK but has no regular text stretch function (very valuable!) and can't load my earlier projects?
Any solutions?

I didn't even have Win 7 for a year when Win 8 came out, so now more compatibility issues.

  • PM 18.1 came out especially for Win 7 and it could open older PM projects.
  • PM 2012 was designed for Win 7 and Win 8, but it cannot open your older PM projects.

2012's text stretch only works in Headlines, so you would have to put in your own line breaks if you need a block of text. Otherwise, the best alternative is to use a regular text box and change the font size as required, to fill your area.
