I need to know the expected fields so I can import a CSV file into CC 10.

In the good old days, I used a DOS version of CC, and it was a wonderful product. I created files of events, some recurring - some one-time, for things like Birthdays and Anniversaries, Payments Due, Hockey Games, etc. It worked great and I could select which files to include in a particular (month) calendar that I would then print.

Sadly, when an upgrade Windoze version of CC came out, it had some serious bugs (what you saw was NOT what you got printed), so I stopped using the product.

I thought I would try CC again, hoping that the bugs from 10-15 years ago have been corrected.

So, now I want to import a CSV file that I will be creating from data I have in a Word document table. I know how to turn that into a CSV format and file, but I don't know the fields that CC is expecting to read (start date, time, font size, etc.).
Is this information available somewhere?

Calendar Creator 12.1 may have unsolvable bugs due to the fact that Windows 10 is not a supported operating system. This program is so old that we offer email support only.

The new version can import CSV files from these older programs, see the data it can read on this screenshot:

Open your CC 10 program. Look at any of the pre-made event lists or even a blank one. You'll see all the fields.

Are you getting CC 10 to work on Win 10?!

Thanks for your reply.

I am attempting to run CC 10 on a Xindoze XP (SP3) system.
So far no problems, except that I don't know how the program expects the fields in the CSV file to be defined (hence my original question).

I don't think I understand your suggestion.
The *.bcc files that are provided as part of the CC 10 installation are in a format to be read by CC, and are not CSV files. I can't read them (coherently) in a text editor such as Notepad / Wordpad.

I will try to load one of the files in CC and then export it, and hopefully that will provide some insight as to what fields the program expects when it imports a CSV file.

Yes, this is what I'm advising. Export events to a .csv and open them in a spreadsheet. It will give you the field names, and you can also study the formats. Date and time fields can be particularly tricky, and you may have to expect a lot of trial and error. It's safest to work with copies only while testing.

Thanks for the reply.

The referenced thread had useful information, but still no specifics as to expected fields.

It is also disturbing that CC seems to have trouble importing times correctly.
One of my intended applications is to import several CSV files (or one merged file) with lists of NHL games on TV, with date, time, and text information with teams and network information.
If times are not imported correctly, that kills that application, although it sounds like if I treat these events as "meetings" that the time will import correctly.

Thanks for the second reply.

I plan to work first with a one-or two-record test file to get the formats correct. Then I can do macro edits in my real data file to make it conform.
I use Word to do macro edits on tabular data, switching back and forth between table and text, and using the Replace all feature. I also have a text editor that allows me to write macros so whatever the required format is, I am confident that I can easily convert my data.

Yes, once you find a successful import of some records, you'll have the key to format and import the rest in most cases, though a small sampling won't guarantee that all records will be correctly imported.

Problems with importing data of all kinds, especially formatted fields like date and time, are not confined to Calendar Creator, but are tricky with many databases and spreadsheets. Retaining initial 0s in number fields (like Zip codes) and empty (null) fields are common examples.
