I have installed Monopoly 3 by Atari on my Windows 7 64 bit computer. This is not to be confused with Monopoly 3D, which, according to Amazon.com at least, is in fact a later game made by Encore. Since the two games have similar system requirements, I'm hoping that I may find an answer here to answer a question I have. Everything with the game runs fine, except for one single incident that occurs when I launch the game. I receive a message which reads: "The program you are trying to run requires a current Indeo codec." Although I instruct the game to run anyway, I thought I'd do more research on the matter.
I found that Indeo codecs were used with older games, such as this one. According to Indeo's website, the codecs are not in fact compatible with Windows 7 or Vista, and and I confirmed this by downloading and installing an Indeo codec, which had no effect. I run the game in compatibility mode with Windows XP, but I still receive the message. Should I just ignore the message permanently, or is there really any way to get it to go away for good?
And, if you don't find an answer on the forum, your best bet would be to contact TMLFAN4LIFE by email - because since TMLFAN4LIFE stopped moderating, there are no moderators who routinely test Monopoly games. And, since the forums are not intended to be used as chat rooms, the only Monopoly players who visit these forums are those players who need answers to questions.
