Hi fredb38,

On a yearly calendar, when you want the date in each calendar to be highlighted for a Holiday, something must be listed in the center of the calendar.

You could, for example, create an event for Christmas which has only a * in the 'Description' of the event. That would cause the Holiday to be highlighted on the calendar. And, that would cause only a * to be listed in the center of the calendar. However, only the * would be displayed for all calendar views, including the Month view.

So, it would be best for the name to be listed in the center of the calendar for even yearly calendars.

When the holidays are listed down the center of the calendar they block the picture. Can they be made transparent

Hi fredb38,

The first point that I should make is that on a Year view, a picture can be placed on only the first page. So, if your Year view has more than one page, only the first page will have a picture.

It is not possible to make the list down the center of the page transparent. However, it is possible to change the text to white.

And, it is possible to make the background of the text box in the center of the page transparent, doing this:

1. Right click on the text in the center of the page

NOTE: If your Year view has more than one page, you MUST right click on the first page - because right clicking on any other page will accomplish nothing.

2. When the menu drops down, click on 'Properties'.

3. When the 'Layout Object Properties' window opens, click on the down arrow next to the 'Set Properties of' box, then select 'Event' in the list that drops down.

4. Click on the down arrow next to the 'Shading' box in the 'Background' section.

5. When the list drops down, scroll to the top of the list then select 'None'.

6. Click on the down arrow next to the 'Set Properties of' box, then select 'Month' in the list that drops down.

7. Click on the down arrow next to the 'Shading' box in the 'Background' section.

8. When the list drops down, scroll to the top of the list then select 'None'.

9. Click on the down arrow next to the 'Set Properties of' box, then select 'Day' in the list that drops down.

10. Click on the down arrow next to the 'Shading' box in the 'Background' section.

11. When the list drops down, scroll to the top of the list then select 'None'.

12. Click on 'OK' at the bottom of the window.

You will see that the box around the text is now all transparent. However, the boxes around the calendar are not transparent. So, unless the picture you selected is only behind the text box, the calendars will also block the picture.

To cause the background of the calendars to also be transparent, you would have to do this.

1. Right click on a calendar on the first page of the Year view.

2. When the menu drops down, click on 'Properties'.

3. Click on the down arrow next to the 'Shading' box in the 'Background' section.

4. When the list drops down, scroll to the top of the list then select 'None'.

Hi fradb38,

Yes, you can delete Holidays that you select. But, you cannot delete them from the Year view.

Holidays can be deleted from a Month view.

To delete a Holiday from a Month view, right click on the Holiday then select 'Delete' in the menu that drops down.

And, Holidays can be deleted from the Event List.

To delete a Holiday from the Event List, right click on the Holiday then select 'Remove' in the menu that drops down.

However, it is very important to keep in mind that when you delete a Holiday from either a Month view or from the Event list, that Holiday is deleted from the entire calendar project.
