Hi bigk,

The "Error opening HKLM with ALL ACCESS - setting up the registry!" error message is telling you that the Print Shop 22 PDF driver is not compatible with your Operating System.

That is especially true if you have Print Shop 22 installed on a 64-bit Operating System - because, since Print Shop 22 was designed for only 32-bit Operating Systems, the Print Shop 22 PDF driver is not compatible with any 64-bit Operating System.

The recommended workaround for this problem is to install an alternate PDF driver, then Print to PDF, as is described in this FAQ

Hi bigk,

As is explained in the FAQ that I mentioned in my earlier reply - which can be viewed only by clicking on the link below

http://forums.encoreusa.com/tm.asp?m=40317

before you can Print to PDF, you need to install an alternate PDF driver. And, the CutePDF Writer is recommended - because it is a free download.

After CutePDF Writer is successfully installed - as is recommended in that FAQ - then you do this:

1. Select 'File' in the menubar, then select 'Print' in the menu that drops down.

2. When the 'Print' window opens, click on the down arrow next to the Printer 'Name' box, then select an installed PDF printer driver in the list that drops down.

you should see Cute PDF Writer in the drop down box.

Hi bigk,

When the Print to PDF option is performed with a Print Shop 22 project, nothing will print - because the only thing that happens when the Print to PDF option is performed is that a PDF file will be created.

However, every time the Print to PDF option is performed with a Print Shop 22 project which was created with more than one side or more than one page, ALL sides and ALL pages are automatically saved to the PDF file.

As is noted in the 'Save as PDF vs File | Print to PDF' FAQ which I recommended earlier, and which can be found here

http://forums.encoreusa.com/tm.asp?m=40317

*.pdf files can be opened, viewed and printed ONLY from a PDF reader, such as Adobe® Acrobat® Reader, which is a free download from here

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

So, after using the Print to PDF option, the first step would be to open the PDF file in the PDF reader. When the PDF file is printed from the PDF reader, you should be able to easily print ALL sides and ALL pages from that PDF file.

Several Additional Thoughts bigk,

When you use the Print to PDF option with a Print Shop 22 project, it is very important to keep in mind that the Cute PDF driver cannot be selected on the 'Print' window. Instead, with some Broderbund products (such as Print Shop 22), you must first click on the 'Setup' button. Then, after selecting the CutePDF Writer and clicking on 'OK', you will be returned to the 'Print' window.

Before you click on 'Print' on the 'Print' window, you will want to click in the box next to 'Double-sided' - to remove the check mark from that box - because both sides of the Print Shop 22 project will be automatically saved in the PDF file. If you don't remove the check mark from that box, you will be required to walk through the double-sided wizard - which is not required for CutePDF Writer.

After removing the check mark from the 'Double-Sided' box, you would click on the 'Print' button. The next window you should see is the 'Save As' window - which will allow you to name the PDF file and choose the folder in which that PDF file is saved. However, when I tested the CutePDF Writer with Print Shop 22, I discovered that the 'Save As' window does not open immediately. Instead, it is sometimes necessary to wait as much as a minute or more for the 'Save As' window to open.
