I'm not sure where to post this, but this forum seems like a possibility.

I'm using one of the Broderbund PrintMaster / Print Shop programs primarily to print greeting cards, along with some t-shirt transfers. At the moment I'm trying out an Epson WorkForce 3520. It's turning out pretty nice greeting cards. The color is not quite true in some instances but on the whole they are pretty nice.

I have to decide whether or not to keep this printer within the next week. I'm wondering if anyone has a printer that they use for similar purposes that might be superior. I've never really considered a dedicated photo printer -- would that be a better choice? (It would have to print greeting cards, of course, and therefore would have to accept media larger than 4x6.)

Would love to hear if you have a printer that you think is outstanding!

Although not as convenient as printing at home, I get all my printing done professionally because it's cheaper and the color is brilliant and waterproof. There are so many printing services where I can upload my files and pick up my prints the next day or sometimes in just an hour.

Cards, calendars, collages, scrapbook pages, photos, etc. - I get them all done by a printing service. Sometimes Walmart or Costco or Staples.

ellengard,

Thank you for your reply. I never thought of this solution. It probably beats the heck out of buying ink cartridges!

An online service will print out a card for you, with front and back printing? You just upload the Print Shop file, and they do it right? How about iron-on transfers for t-shirts? That requires a special type of paper - would an online service have that?

I don't live near a Staples or a Costco, but perhaps I could use Rite-Aid. Would that probably be the same quality, do you know? Or maybe I could just use Shutterfly or Picasa?

Hmmm. All these new possibilities. Thank you again. :-)

I like to pick up my prints (or T-shirts, cards...) locally, to avoid shipping costs.

Generally, you would upload a high resolution JPG file. Check out what Rite Aid offers. They have some excellent promos going on right now.
