I exported the calendar file successfully from Facilities Manager (the data is listed when opened in notepad or excel) but it is not importing into Calendar Creator 12.1. I have followed all your instructions with no success. What more do I need to do?

First, let's be clear on what format was used to export the data. Normally you would export to .csv from an external program.

If you have done that, what error, if any, do you get when trying to import?

It's possible that the exported data will have to be tweaked so that the column headings exactly match the field names in Calendar Creator, and also that there are no empty fields.

If you want to check the formats and headings used by Calendar Creator, you can export a sample calendar from CC.

Whose instructions are you referring to? (This is a user-to-user forum. No one here works for Encore.) If you can point to those instructions, someone may be able to help.

Oops, Hi, David... I see we hit the OK button within seconds of each other.

Hi, ellengard,

The simultaneous posts can happen often, and I've done that enough times.

I assume that the instructions followed were based on the CC Help file, but maybe not, so I'll be interested to know as well.

I'll add this link to a message where external file importing was discussed:

It seems that Calendar Creator doesn't export field names with an exported .csv file, so try these as column headings for your exported data:

Start Date
Start Time
End Time
Event Description
Priority
Category
Unassigned
Note

These appear to be the mapping field assignment options on Import.

Time and date fields can be troublesome for data exchange.

I've exported a .csv file from Calendar Creator, and successfully imported it back into Calendar Creator. It has a time field format example, using 5pm, as follows:
With the .csv file opened in notepad, it is:
17:00
With the .csv file opened in Excel, the field contents in the formula field show as:
5:00:00 PM

Are you mapping the fields during the import process?

Do you have options for exporting your data from CMS Logos Facility Manager in a compatible format? It may take some trial and error testing with different time formats.

It appears to me that it should be possible to import time from .csv files, though it may require saving the exported file with a spreadsheet program using differently-formatted time fields. You will likely find one that works. Let us know how it goes.
