I've just re-purchased this game after buying a new computer. It appeared to install ok but it won't run. Initially I got the error message "no IML32.dll on your computer", as well as various boxes containing other messages, ie "projector file corrupt", "projector is stopping" and "application cannot run". I haven't the foggiest what these messages mean, although I did manage to download the missing dll file. After doing that I re-installed the game and tried again, but still no joy. This time I got the message "ordinal 324 not found", and I have no idea what this means. Another web search did not provide any enlightenment and as Encore can't provide me with any support, I'm hoping that somebody out there can. Whilst I'm quite savvy with computers, I'm not so hot on the techno-babble and don't want to tinker with anything I don't understand. I love this game and would be very disappointed if I couldn't get it to work, not least because I paid good money for it! My previous supplier no longer carries this game so I couldn't re-download it from them, and Encore was the only site I found that had it. After 2 days of searching I'm now tearing my hair out and hanging out for help!

I have run this program under Windows 8.1 and it looks like our program is not compatible with Windows 8.

When our customers purchase our programs it's suggested to look at the system requirements on the box before purchasing the program as we do not support programs that don't have an operating system listed.

Also this program has exceeded the amount of years we can support it and end user support is only provided on these forums. We cannot provide direct support for this game any longer through our support department in house. If you have purchased this game from a retailer online or in the store, it's suggested to return the product to the supplier for a refund.

Finally we're not sure how you found the product for purchase on our website as doing a search here : http://www.encore.com/search.aspx?SearchTerm=scrabble did not come up with this game. Can you please tell me when you purchased the game?

Hi Jason. Thanks for your prompt reply, although the contents weren't what I was hoping for! I did check the system requirements info where it mentioned Windows XP and Vista. I was using Vista when I got the original game and it also worked fine in Windows 7. It's only in my new computer with 8.1 that it doesn't work.

I bought the game (which came as a disk in a box) from "Stay at Home Dads. We Know Games" via Amazon. The instructions/installation info that came with it gave the Encore site as the one to contact for support, and the name was also printed on the box.

Why was this game ever discontinued? I can't believe it wouldn't always be popular as Scrabble has been around forever and is still a top-selling game. It's perfect for playing online and the "journey" aspect makes it so much fun. Maybe you could contact Hasbro and persuade them to update it for Windows 8? I'd be happy to buy it again in that event, and am sure lots of other folk would be too!

Anyway, I appreciate your taking the time to reply and if you come up with any way for me to play this wonderful version of Scrabble, I'd be delighted to hear from you.

Regards
CAROLE McPHERSON

Your quite welcome on the prompt reply Its my job to help :)

About the support clause, older products automatically get moved to web only support to focus resources on newer products.

Pogo had acquired the publishing deal with Hasbro to create exclusive game licenses and new games based on properties like Monopoly, etc.

While our game is discontinued there may be retailers out there that have bought out our left over inventory and are selling it online in their store fronts, Amazon ,etc.

If your looking for a Scrabble experience on Windows 8 , Scrabble Champion Edition should work. And also we sold a game called Scrabble Plus. That should work as well but it's just a suggestion and all the suggestions provided here are as is :) Do some research before purchasing games for Windows 8.1 :)

If you need anything else please let me know.
