How do I import an Avery template to make binder spine inserts? I have downloaded the template into Word but cannot get it to work when imported into Print Shop.

Hi mrsdi,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to import Avery templates into Print Shop. And, the Avery template that you downloaded from Avery will work only in Word and in other programs that can open *.doc files.

There are, though, several ways that you could create your own template in Print Shop.

First, you could carefully measure the Binder Spine paper (margins and exact position of the Spine Inserts) that you plan to print on, then open a blank page Print Shop project and create guidelines on that project that exactly match the position and boundaries of each of the Spine Inserts on the Spine paper.

Second, you could draw a line around the very edge of each Spine Insert on one unprinted sheet of the Spine paper, scan that paper, save the scanned image to a graphic file format, open a blank page Print Shop project, insert/import the scanned image onto the project, size the scanned image to completely fill the page, design your Spine inserts (using the lines you drew as markers for the edges of the spine inserts), then delete the scanned image before printing.

Or, you could just download Avery's free DesignPro software from here

Avery DesignPro for PC

to see if DesignPro already has the Avery template you need.

Or, you could just create the Spine Inserts in Word, then Copy any graphics you need from Print Shop and Paste them into Word.
