Is it possible to import or create a custom label template in Printmaster 7? I have a box of Avery 8167 return address labels which I have used with Printmaster 18, but haven't been able to figure out how to use them with this version.

Avery 8167 label is 1.75" x 0.5" | Labels per sheet: 80 | Four columns, ten rows, no gaps?

The Custom Stock Creator can't accept a number less than 0.66, but we can work around that.

Start a new label project. Choose custom size. Enter 1.75 for the width and 1.0 for the height and 0.0 for both gaps.

The result is a label that is twice the height that you need so simply put TWO text boxes on there. Imagine a horizontal line splitting the workspace in half, and position your text boxes accordingly. (One above the other)

I added a red line in the middle to help me. DELETE any such line before printing. I could have added a non-printing guide line instead.

Alternatively, you can go to the Avery site and use their software to print on these labels.

It's unfortunate that PrintMaster 7.0 cannot accept "0.5". That would be so simple.

There are no vertical gaps but horizontal ones about 1/4". Thanks I'll try this.

You're welcome. Glad it was horizontal gaps since it doesn't affect the height size we used.

Ellen

You appear to be the "guru" in solving problems. I have just purchased Print Shop 4 and have tried to set up a custom label (Avery J8167) of 8 to the page. When I get to the end of the process I get a message
"the given key was not present in the dictionary" Can you help - this is my first ever post!

... custom label (Avery J8167) of 8 to the page.

Avery J8167 is a full sheet label measuring approx. 7.9 in x 11.4 in. So you will be printing, then cutting the sheet up into 8 parts.

First of all, you need to set your printer for A4 size, NOT letter size. Start a new label project. Use these dimensions and you will get 8 labels of approx. the same size.

The program assumes there is unprintable margin space which is why if you try to make your labels larger, the number of labels will drop to six or less, rather than 8.

Sorry the label in question was 8165 (the Inkjet Parcel label). Appreciated your reply about 8167 and noted your advice.

Another option is to start a new 8.5 x 11 project and add guidelines. Do your design in one of the sections. Group the elements. Copy and paste the group and move each group onto a new section until you have all 8 sections filled.

Or you can put a different design in each section.

I just bought Avery 22827 removeable labels. Printmaster v7 doesn't have them.
If I try to make a custom label, I get some weird error message, then can't close the program (have to restart the computer).

I had Printmaster 12, then bought/downloaded v7 last night. After about five minutes I realized I didnt' like it (not only becasue of the label thing), but it's nothing like PM12.

I'll mess with it some more this weekend. If I can't figure out how to get around the error message, I'm getting a refund.

So....about the Avery 22827-anyone know how to make a custom one? It's about 3 1/2 by 4 3/4, I believe. It's just a rectangular label (four per sheet).

This version isn't helping :(

I always had this happening and not with just labels. The solution was to right click on the shortcut for PM7 on the desktop and select Run As Administrator.

For making custom label templates, this program is the easiest I've ever seen. You just fill in the four measurements when you start a new project,

Project type: Labels
Sizes: Custom
