I am not able to understand how I can change a ready-made project from landscape to portrait when I begin a new project. . Can anyone help me. Thank you.

You can't change it. You copy and paste the elements to a new project.

Open the ready-made project. Open a new blank portrait oriented project. Now copy and paste from one to the other. You may need to resize the elements to fit properly within the margins.
