Hi Guys,
I have the PS3 program & was having great difficulty using it. I realised the image editor toolbar is incomplete -- no icons for any effects.
Contacted Mindscape here in Australia. They sent a link for a "patch" ( which by the way was huge) that could possibly fix the problem.
Downloaded & installed -- no change - still no icons. This program is useless without these. Am I missing something? Doing something wrong? Appreciate any help you can give me.
Frustrated Kerrie

Which version do you have - Deluxe or Pro? The chart below shows that Deluxe has fewer image editing tools.

Hi Ellen,
Thanks so much for responding. I have the PS3 deluxe version. I visited Mindscape.com.au & checked the "screen view" for the section I am talking about ( which I had already done before contacting them ) locked & loaded! When the toolbar appears the image editor icon is there, but there are none of the following ----- Auto Correct, Black / White , Sepia, Negative, Solarize, Posterize, Emboss or Edge Detect. When I open the image editor there is only two options -- touch Up & positioning-- no Effects Button. When I spoke to Mindscape, I was assured this was not a bodgy (bad) disk & that the "patch " would fix it, otherwise , visit the forum & someone would point me in the right direction. I had my old laptop stolen & on it was PS17 (ancient) which had all the tools that are missing from this version , so I am used to using PS - I thought it was just me & going a little crazy or too much Chardonay!!!
Your thoughts? Appreciate.
Kerrie :)

If you will click on the link below

http://forums.encoreusa.com/tm.asp?m=43070

then scroll to the last post in that thread, you will see that "the 'Effects' button is not a selectable option in The Print Shop 3.0 Deluxe Image Editor."

And, if you will review the other posts in that thread you will see that "not all of the options which are described in the User Guide are accessible in The Print Shop 3.0 Deluxe."

So, what you are seeing is exactly what all PS 3.0 Deluxe users see.

Hi Salome,
thank you for taking the time to respond. I must not be able to read. I have just re checked both the Mindscape Australia website & the Broderbund website for the screen views on the PS3.0 Deluxe version & I'm pretty sure that both of them clearly have the photo of a little girl in the image editor & all the icons I am missing are there . At the top of the screen view it says "PS 3.0 Deluxe!!!! not PS 3.0 Professional. I did not post or list this, both companies did. I'm sorry I sound a little peeved,( it's definitely not at you, you have been kind & courteous) but I'm sure I am not going crazy. This "version" I have is absolute rubbish - if this is the case, or it is false advertising. It doesn't even contain the basic elements.
Still extremely frustrated.

Hi Kerrie,

I see what you mean. This image is from the 3.0 Deluxe web page and it does show the Effects button.

Let me check out those effects for you, to see what they do. Maybe there are some free photo editing programs that can produce the same effects.

Also, there is a satisfaction guarantee for this product so you can get a refund.

The patch that you mentioned earlier was to update version 3.0 to 3.0.5. This made the program more stable as it crashed frequently prior to the patch.

The Effects button has these options.

For a lot more effects options and a wide range of photo-editing features, there are several good free downloads such as the one here. http://www.getpaint.net/
