I am attempting to re-install Casino 2004. I have a Dell Dimension 8400 with Windows XP SP2. When the Install Shield wizard begins, I receive this error message: "1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime". (I have re-booted my computer and tried again.) This CD had previously been installed on the same computer, prior to a crash a year ago. The same CD is currently installed on an older e-Machines T-2080 with no problem. What does the error mean, and what can I do about it? Thanks! [:D]

The "Error 1607 - Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Run Time" error message is a system-specific error message which is generated by InstallShield® and can be caused by a variety of settings.

which describes how to deal with that problem.

Before you do so, however, it might be a good idea to restart the computer, then try a 'clean' install - exactly as described in this FAQ
