With the text box selected (handles show around it), click the Border icon (looks like a star and is located near the top right). A drop down appears where you can choose your outline color and thickness. Additionally, you can choose a shape, fill it with transparency or color, then type inside and the words will fit inside the shape. Again, you change the border edge color and thickness with the Border icon. The "outline" feature allows manipulation of the shape's curves, but the tool tip mistakenly mentions color and thickness. (it got me, too)
