When I save as PDF I get message "Printer not activated, error code-30". Checked "help/preferences" and it shows Port Configured. (Grayed Out)
Went to pdf printer preferences and the port selected is set to: nul: Local Port Broderbund PDF Creator.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Don

If you are using Win 7, here is a tech article that may help:
http://support.encore.com/technicalsupport/kb.aspx?kb_id=1052&product_id=3781

As a workaround, I use Cute PDF writer, a free download here:
http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp

It's great because it creates a PDF of any document from any program with a print command.

I'm using Win 10, but I did the new port on pdf printer, named it Broderbund PDF Converter, applied and restarted computer. Went to project to save as PDF and got same error message. Went to ports and the check mark had move to the nul port. And printer name moved from Broderbund port back to nul port. Is this another issue that needs fixed? Doing work around with other programs doesn't seem right when a person buys a program that should work.
Thanks
Don

As this is a user-to-user functionality support forum (for helping each other with learning how to use the features (such as mail merging or making gradient backgrounds), for technical help, you can submit a tech support ticket here:
http://support.encore.com/technicalsupport/tech_support_frm.aspx?product_id=3781

BTW, the Broderbund PDF Converter can't embed fonts. In case embedding the fonts is very important to you, then you may not want to pursue a technical fix.

Here is an alternative to the Broderbund PDF converter. You don't need to download anything additional. Go to Print and choose Microsoft Print To PDF as your default printer. When you hit the print button,
it will ask you for the name of the file.

Once everything is done, you will find the file you named in the folder you chose.

Brilliant! I forgot that Win10 comes with that. Win7 doesn't which is why I have had Cute PDF writer since my XP days.

Have you tried contacting our support department? They can help you troubleshoot these issues. Since these forums are limited to functionality only the online support system would be your best bet.

You can submit a ticket at http://support.encore.com/technicalsupport/tech_support_frm.aspx?product_id=3781 as Ellengard mentioned.
